Lollipop Crafts Challenge #5 -- Sympathy

Good morning everyone. It's Alanna here and I'd like to thank all of you who played with us last week using buttons and ribbons. This week's challenge at Lollipop Crafts is to make a sympathy card. Unfortunately, we all need them at some point so why not play along this week and have a sympathy card already to go when the unexpected occasion arises.

I'm also thrilled to tell you that Danni, our guest designer for August, has agreed to join our team full-time. In addition, I also am happy to announce our September guest designer, Kristie. Later in the week, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about Kristie. We also have to say goodbye to our designer Lisa who is stepping down from the team. Best of luck to you Lisa.

Our sponsor this week is Fairy Knoll. The winner gets 3 digis of choice! You'll hear more about this wonderful company tomorrow.

Alrighty then, let's get to the fabulous cards that the DT came up with this week.

Thanks for dropping by and we can't wait to see what you come up with for this week's challenge.

Challenge #4 Winners!

Welcome back and thanks to everyone who played along in this week's challenge! Everyone's entry was fabulous and we really enjoyed each one. But here are winners that you've been waiting for.

The winner of this week's challenge, using random.org is #13. Congratulations Jeanette! You win 3 digis of your choice from Freshly Brewed Designs! Please contact us at lollipopcrafts@gmail.com with your selections.

And here's Jeanette's card - I love how she used a post card for the background and the monkeys are perfect!

Now onto our top three picks listed in submission order. This first card is #9 Wendy Ramlaklan! The colors she used and the distressing of each element, including the ribbon, give this card a nice look. Those flowers are adorable and her coloring is fantastic.

The next card will look familiar and is 14. Piali! I loved how she was able to use the bold black ribbon without having it distract from the main image and the attention to detail is great.

Our final pick is #20 Michelle Singer! This festive card doesn't need any sentiments and the image says it all! The use of buttons and ribbons complement the striped paper and lends perfectly for the little boy card.

Congratulations to these ladies and be sure to grab our Top 3 badge from the side bar! Remember to check back with us tomorrow for a fun new challenge with Alanna and another week of sponsored prizes!

Ribbon & Buttons Inspiration

Hi there! This is Barbara showcasing a few highlights from this week's challenge. As you know, the theme is all about ribbons and buttons and we have some wonderful entries so far! I love how these entries used the ribbon on thier projects!

This first one is a gorgeous layout by Libeeti and the handmade ribbon flower is what caught my eye. I love how she used two different colors and two different techniques to put it all together!

This second project is a card from Christine N and she also uses ribbon to create a flower. I love the texture it creates on the card!

This card is from Piali and I think the ribbon does a wonderful job at accenting the center image! It's a great example how elegant a card can be even with a simple and bold ribbon.

Lastly, this is a card I made using Sweet On You digi image from Freshly Brewed, this week's sponsor. Remember this week's winner will receive 3 digis of their choice! Doesn't that icecream look yummy?

You still have a couple days left to get your entires in and the winner will be announced on Sunday. I hope these have inspired a few ideas for you and we can't wait to see how you use your ribbon and buttons!

Sponsor Spotlight on Fresh Brewed Designs

Good morning everyone.  It's Alanna here and I get the privilege of introducing you to our wonderful sponsor this week, Fresh Brewed Designs.  Here's a bit about them.

Hi. I am Heather Dennis, owner of Fresh Brewed Designs. I am a Christian stay at home homeschooling mom who is addicted to coffee and card making.. I have been married for 12 years to my best friend. We have two beautiful children. All in all I am blessed beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I opened Fresh Brewed Designs in late August of 2009. I started sketching and just could not stop. Fresh Brewed Designs has a mix of fun, cute, inspirational images and more. When something pops in my head, I just roll with it. I have enjoyed creating, sharing, learning, growing and meeting new friends daily.

And here's some fabulous cards from a couple of DT members from Fresh Brewed Designs.

Remember that the winner of this week's challenge will get 3 digi images of their choice from Fresh Brewed Designs so come on over and play with us.  Thanks again to Fresh Brewed Designs for sponsoring us this week.

Challenge #4 - Ribbons and Buttons

Welcome back for another weekly challenge. This is Barbara here presenting a fun challenge brought to you by Lisa. This week she has a wonderful combination for you... Ribbons & Buttons! These are always great embellishments to use and we want to see both of them on your projects. Check out what we created for you below!

But first, we're sponsored this week by Freshly Brewed Designs who will generously supply the winner of this challenge with 3 digis of their choice! With so many digis to choose from it will be hard to pick! Also, remember to check us out later this week for more inspiration from our sponsor.

Check out this inspiration from our own Lollipop Girls! This first card is brought to you by Kim - I love the bright red ribbon she used and the added sparkle on the card!

This cute card is done by Diane - I love the color combination she used and the various textures are a nice touch!

Alanna has come up with a cheerful card that would make anyone smile! And the way she used the ribbon is very inventive!

These next two cards were created by Danni. These great layouts will work with a variety of images and I love the alternate-Christmas colors she used on the second card!

Lastly is a card I made which was one of those that started out as one thing but ended up completely different - but I think the red adds a nice pop!

We hope that got you inspired! Check out all the rules on the sidebar and remember to post your creations using InLinkz below no later than 8pm PST on Saturday. We can't wait to see how you use your Ribbons & Buttons!
